My Story
Asia Antoniuk, hailing from Santa Clarita, CA, has always had a passion for the water, particularly favoring Butterfly and mid-distance Freestyle events. Asia has been coaching at Paseo for over four years, specializing in Butterfly and overall stroke technique, making her a sought-after coach for swimmers aiming to perfect their form and efficiency.
Asia swam for Hart High School and the United States Air Force Academy. These experiences significantly shaped her into the accomplished swimmer and coach she is today. One of the notable milestones in Asia’s career was qualifying for the USA Swimming Nationals in the 100-yard Butterfly. Additionally, she holds a record at the Department of Defense Warrior Games.
Asia's coaching philosophy is simple yet profound: put the swimmers first and help them achieve their goals in any way possible. She is driven by the joy on their faces when they succeed and is committed to fostering a positive and encouraging environment where athletes can thrive. "Seeing my swimmers' smiling faces when they achieve their goals is what drives me every day," she says.
Her leadership style is rooted in positivity and encouragement. She motivates her swimmers to always give their best effort and to learn from every swim, regardless of the outcome. Believing there is always room for improvement, she encourages her athletes to strive for excellence in every aspect.
Outside of coaching, Asia is a volunteer coach with Angel City Sports, an organization that promotes athletic opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities. This involvement highlights her commitment to giving back and making a difference beyond the pool.
In her personal life, Asia enjoys being the favorite "annoying" little sister of Coach Konrad, a role she cherishes. In her free time, she loves spending time with her fur babies, horseback riding, and riding her dirt bike in the desert. These hobbies reflect her adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors.
Asia holds certifications as an ASCA Level 2 (possibly Level 3) coach and is SSD certified. These credentials, combined with her extensive experience, underscore her expertise and dedication to the sport. Her blend of experience, expertise, and enthusiasm makes her a valuable asset to Paseo Aquatics and an inspiration to her swimmers.
