Chris Dahowski

Meet Chris Dahowski, the co-founder, head coach, and managing director of Paseo Aquatics. Hailing from York, PA, Chris brings over a decade of coaching expertise and a profound passion for swimming to Santa Clarita's vibrant swimming community.

Chris's journey in swimming began at a young age, shaping his lifelong dedication to the sport. From his formative years at York YMCA and York Suburban High School to his collegiate experience at Clarion University, Chris's love for swimming has been unwavering.

As a co-founder of Paseo Aquatics, Chris has served as head coach for more than 13 years, making him the longest-standing head coach in the Santa Clarita Valley. Under his leadership, Paseo Aquatics has flourished from a small group of three swimmers into a thriving club with over 1700 athletes, earning recognition as a U.S. Top 100 club.

Chris's coaching philosophy revolves around a comprehensive approach that integrates technical expertise with accountability, education, and motivation. He holds certifications from esteemed organizations such as the World Swimming Coaches Association (WSCA) and ASCA Level 4, reflecting his commitment to excellence.

Throughout his coaching tenure, Chris has celebrated numerous successes, including coaching athletes to the World University Games and prestigious national events like the TYR PRO Swim Series and USA Olympic Trials. His athletes have achieved remarkable feats, from national titles to international accolades, showcasing Chris's ability to nurture talent and foster success.

Beyond coaching, Chris holds a Bachelor's degree from Clarion University and a Master's Degree in Architecture from Savannah College of Art and Design. He finds joy in spending time with loved ones and restoring his 1973 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40.
