My Story
Allison Cho, originally from Valencia, CA, has always been drawn to the water, where she discovered her passion for swimming, particularly excelling in the 50 Free. Despite not starting with Paseo Aquatics initially, Allison's family found a warm and supportive community within the team, especially after facing challenges with another club.
Her swimming journey has taken her through experiences with Valencia High School and the Pepperdine Swim and Dive program. Even during her undergraduate studies, Allison remained connected to Paseo, finding solace and joy in the camaraderie and encouragement of her teammates. In July 2023, she transitioned into a coaching role at Paseo, eager to give back to the community that had supported her own growth and success.
As a coach, Allison places a strong emphasis on personal development, resilience, and sportsmanship, firmly believing that every athlete possesses the potential to thrive both in and out of the water. She cultivates a nurturing and inclusive environment where athletes feel empowered to pursue their dreams and continuously strive for improvement.
Central to Allison's coaching philosophy are principles of mentorship, collaboration, and empowerment. She leads by example, inspiring her athletes through her dedication and commitment to their individual and collective success. Allison holds a BA in Sport Administration from Pepperdine University and is currently pursuing an MS in Communications from Syracuse University.
Beyond coaching, Allison finds joy in various hobbies, including reading, playing the flute, and avidly following Formula 1 and the NHL. She draws inspiration from Psalm 40:1-3 in her daily life, guiding her in both her personal and professional endeavors.
